National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is US based independent agency which is engaged in preserving and documenting historical and governmental records in United States of America. It is officially maintaining records, authoritative and legally authentic copies of federal regulations, acts of congress, presedential proclamaitons. Archivist of the United States is the Chief Administrator of NARA.

NARA was established in 1934 initially and later in 1985 became independent agency under the Federal Government of the United States. It is now headquartered in 700 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington DC, USA.
