Kurukshetra University is a leading university of North India and specially Haryana state. It was founded in 1956 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, First President of India and this university was established by the efforts of Sir Chandeshwar Prasad Narayan Singh, Governor of Punjab who has dream to establish institute to promote Indian culture. KUK was started with Sanskrit Department as the first and only department of the university at the time of establishment.
